New Principals Stand Ready to Welcome Students Back Monday

When school opens on August 13 for the 2018-2019 school year, students at several schools throughout the District will be welcomed by new principals.

The schools with new principals are:

  • Glade View Elementary – Shundra Dowers
  • Glades Central High – Melanie Bolden-Morris
  • Golden Grove Elementary – Linda Edgecomb
  • Hidden Oaks Elementary – Shari Bremekamp
  • Highland Elementary – Elena Villani
  • John F. Kennedy Middle – Ricky Clark
  • Jupiter Elementary – Nicole Daly
  • Okeeheelee Middle – Elizabeth Morales
  • Omni Middle – Allison Castellano
  • Osceola Creek Middle – Brian McClellan

Melanie Bolden-Morris, taking over the helm at Glades Central High, remains in very familiar territory. A past graduate of the school, she also served as an assistant principal for the Raiders. “I sincerely thank you for this opportunity to continue the legacy of academic success,” she said.

Elena Villani talked about her parents who emigrated to the U.S. from Cuba, the high standards they set for her as she was growing up, and how she is able to relate to the families she will be working with when she assumes her role as the principal at Highland Elementary. “I’m humbled, thank you all for this opportunity and I hope to continue to make you proud, my parents proud, my family, and all the families that I serve.”

Eli Morales, principal of Okeeheelee Middle School echoed the a similar message shared my these new school leaders, “This journey isn’t about me, it’s about the children of Palm Beach County,” she said. “I take this position to heart, I’m so excited to have this opportunity.”
