Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, the School District of Palm Beach County’s School Food Service Department offered special menus each week, referring to the celebration as Fiesta Fridays.
The Hispanic menu items were served in all school cafeterias throughout the District on most Fridays during the September 15 through October 15 period for Hispanic Heritage Month.
“I really enjoy doing this sort of thing and I wanted to give everyone plenty of options to pick from,” said Ingrid Valentino, Berkshire Elementary School’s Cafeteria Manager.
The menu offerings highlighted cultural dishes and the cafeteria serving lines were adorned with colorful decorations such as Fiesta Kits, Hanging Paper Fans, Fringe Garland, Mini Fiesta Donkey Piñatas, and Fiesta Inflatables. Some of the menu items served during the Month included:
- Friday, September 21 – Arroz Con Pollo
- Friday, September 28 – Taco & Cheese Quesadilla
- Friday, October 5 – Cuban sandwich
- Friday, October 12 – Nacho Taco with Fiesta Rice
