Our Main Business Services Overview
The Facilities Services Department (formerly Maintenance & Plant Operations) is funded by the School Board to accomplish specified maintenance and repair of the existing district facilities throughout the county in support of the educational mission. To best accomplish the District’s goals, the Department is aligned into multiple service areas. (1) Building Envelope Maintenance Program (BEMP), (2) Building Services, (3) District Center/ FHESC, (4) Fire/ Life Safety, (5) Maintenance Projects, (6) Mechanical (HVAC), (7) Trade Services, (8) Utilities, and (9) Zone Teams. Each school has a designated Zone Team Facility Management Coordinator who serves as the single point of contact for all facility needs. In addition, Centralized Services Facilities Management Coordinators schedule work through the single point of contact. It is through this alignment and on-going communications with the schools, that Facilities Services provides support services to the students of Palm Beach County.

Single Point of Contact
Maintenance and Plant Operations (M&PO) has a Facility Management Coordinator (FMC) assigned to each school. The FMC functions as the school's single point of contact and handles citations from the Comprehensive Safety Inspection Reports (CSIR's), Indoor Air Quality Reports, Health Department Reports and routine work orders. Your FMC is available to help coordinate all M&PO work and assist in getting you in contact with the right department if your issue falls outside of M&PO's area of responsibility.

After Hours Emergency Contact
The normal working hours for Maintenance and Plant Operations are 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. During Spring and Summer Breaks working hours are 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM. For emergency repair work after hours, please call School Police and a qualified maintenance technician can be dispatched pursuant to work prioritization.
