High School Seniors must have a GPA of 2.75 or higher; score 970 or higher on the SAT and 20 or higher on the ACT; complete an essay; provide transcripts and participate in an interview. Non-instructional employees must have worked for the District for at least three consecutive years and received good evaluations, provide references, transcripts, complete an essay and interview.

The scholarship provides $750 a semester for up to five years. As a condition of accepting the scholarship, scholarship recipients agree to return to Palm Beach County to teach. Your FFEA contribution will make a lasting difference, as “teachers touch the future.” Each year, our school district hires between 1600 and 1800 highly qualified new teachers, and FFEA assists in this process. Currently, 70 FFEA graduates are successfully teaching in Palm Beach County public schools and 35 more are attending accredited educational colleges and universities to become teachers.

If every employee contributed just $1.00 a pay period, 60 scholarships could be awarded. One hundred (100) percent of your tax-deductible donation goes to fund the FFEA scholarships. The Department of Recruitment and Retention verifies recipients’ grades and courses each semester. The Education Foundation of Palm Beach County is the fiscal agent.
