Noted Scholars and Educators To Attend African and African American Summer Institute

The School District of Palm Beach County Office of African and African American Studies annual AFRICAN AND AFRICAN AMERICAN SUMMER INSTITUTE will be held at Royal Palm Beach High School on June 14-17, 2010.  The Summer Institute will be exciting and inspiring to all those who attend. The institute is opened to all district employees. “Preparation for Youth– Centered Culturally Relevant Pedagogy” is the focus of this year’s Summer Institute.

Noted scholars, educators, community leaders, and members of community organizations will be in attendance. Educational and social topics that will help to strengthen the relationship between the school, community, and home will be a few of the issues addressed at this year’s institute.

The institute will culminate in an educational “Field Experience” to The Mel Fisher Maritime Museum, The Wreck of the Henrietta Marie, in Key West, Florida on Friday, June 18 2010.
