School District Offers Free, Off-Adoption Science Resources

Looking for science materials to help reinforce student success with science courses? Parents, students, and community organizations can come to any public elementary, middle, or high school to check out the available 2-12 science books that can be had for the taking! Bill Purtell of the District’s Instructional Materials Department said the materials are available because they’re no longer the books used to teach science to District students. “We generally have textbooks adopted for a six-year period so we have thousands of student science books and teachers’ editions available that are still useful for parents and community organizations that want to reinforce science lessons,” he stated.

The give-away period runs from September 6-23. Those interested in getting the science materials should get in touch with the instructional materials contact at the schools.
