The School District of Palm Beach County is partnering with several community organizations to offer a Safety and Wellness Fair in order to equip students with the proper tools needed to enjoy a safe and healthy life.
When? Saturday, November 5, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where? Forest Hill Community High School – 6901 Parker Ave., West Palm Beach, FL 33405
The fair will feature a Bike Obstacle Course, where children can learn to put on a helmet and ride a bicycle properly. Additionally, mini workshops will take place about Healthy Eating Tips, Safety and Student Driver, Safety and Children with Disabilities and many more. Free helmets will be distributed and there will be refreshments for all the attendees.
The Safety and Wellness Fair is a fun event for the whole family that offers fire rescue and other safety vehicles, rollover simulators, free plants, poster contest, dance performances by the Royal Palm Beach High School Wildcat Dancers, door prizes and much more.
“This Safety and Wellness Fair is a great effort by many community organizations. It will feature more than 50 exhibitors with valuable information about eating right, pedestrian safety, teaching our children how to ride a bicycle and much more,” said Mrs. Kalinthia Dillard, member of the steering committee.
The Safety and Wellness Fair is being presented by Safe Routes to School Coalition; Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities; Quantum Foundation; Nicklaus Children’s Health Care Foundation; Safe Kids Palm Beach County; Palm Healthcare Foundation, Inc.; Community Partnership Group; the School District of Palm Beach County; Home Depot; and the Community Blood Centers of South Florida.
