The School District of Palm Beach County’s 5th edition of the Wellness Promotion Policy Annual Report was recently presented to the School Board and District Leadership. The theme “Personal Responsibility…starts with you!” All stakeholders are encouraged to view this comprehensive annual report at the following URL/domain link: www.2011wellnessannualreport.com.
The purpose of the 5th edition Wellness Promotion Policy Annual Report is to continue building on the district and community wellness journey, which began six years ago. This annual report is comprised of six main areas: Introduction, Nutrition Education, Physical Activity, Other School/Department Based Activities, Nutrition Standards, and United Resources all of which identify the direct correlation to the eight Coordinated School Health (CSH) components.
Each contributor focused on “personal responsibility” as the core theme for this annual report. As all district employees (from academic to operational) strive to accomplish one common goal of improving student performance holistically, many of them have taken into their own hands the additional demands of living and teaching a life rich in health and wellness.
“With each year, we continue to make great strides in improving the health and well-being of our student and staff population and the community as a whole. Our success could never be accomplished without the support and dedication of all our partners…thank you!” added Steve Bonino, District’s Chair of the Wellness Promotion Task Force.
