School District Invites Community to Select Winners of the Alcohol Prevention Poster Contest

The School District invites all members of the community to participate in the online voting for the Alcohol Prevention School Bus Poster Contest that is open from Wednesday, January 11, 2012 until Wednesday, February 18, 2012 at midnight.

Voters may select the three posters (one elementary, one middle, and one high school) that they think offers the most effective alcohol prevention message and will stand out inside a school bus. Only one vote (three posters) per e-mail address will be accepted daily.

Over 770 entries were submitted from Palm Beach County schools.  A judging committee selected 15 semifinalists, each with a positive alcohol prevention message and fact about underage drinking.

The top six posters (two each from elementary, middle, and high school) will be displayed on all district school buses. Winners will receive $100 each plus Adobe Photoshop software.

Semifinalists and top posters from each school are being featured at the 2012 South Florida Fair in the Bink Glisson Museum at Yesteryear Village through January 29.
