Media Release: District Honoring Teachers with Year-Long Campaign

WEST PALM BEACH- Many teachers are preparing for their summer break, but the School District of Palm Beach County isn’t going to let the end of the school year keep students, the community and businesses from honoring the great work they do all year.

School District of Palm Beach County has launched a year-long campaign to celebrate the work teacher do throughout the year with its Thank-a-Teacher Campaign.

Teachers are essential to the Palm Beach County community. Each day, they come to school ready to tackle a critically important, extraordinarily complex job that is demanding but nonetheless rewarding. The valuable work that teachers do, helps their students reach their full potential.
“Our teachers are heroes to so many, and deserve to be honored every day,” said Superintendent Robert Avossa. “We hope the Thank-a-Teacher campaign will encourage businesses and organizations throughout Palm Beach County to step up and thank a teacher, whether through sponsoring an event at one of our schools, or becoming a District business partner.”The campaign will run through the 2017-2018 school year. Students can download a template to create a special message to a teacher, community members can send a special thank you message, pictures and gracious messages can be shared on social media using the hashtag #ThankaTeacherPBC and local businesses can also show their appreciation by providing specials, offers, discounts and services to teachers throughout the year.
