Media Advisory: Future Teacher Signing Day: More Than 40 Seniors to Commit to Returning to Teach in Palm Beach After College


WEST PALM BEACH– More than 40 students in the School District’s Early Childhood Teacher, Teacher Education Choice Academies, or those with plans to study education in college, will be signing contracts stating that they will return to teach in Palm Beach County upon graduation from college.
As part of the District’s “Grown Your Own” Initiative, the District is guaranteeing these students a teaching position once they have earned a Bachelor’s degree and meet state requirements for certification.

Representatives from FAU and Palm Beach State College will be on hand and are expected to provide some of the students with their acceptance letters to colleges during the signing event.  Students may also be eligible for Florida Future Educators of America Scholarships which provide up to $8,200 for college.
