Media Release: Graduations are Underway. Watch Live.

WEST PALM BEACH – Graduation ceremonies for the Class of 2018 are underway. Ceremonies are held for graduates of 32 schools, programs and academies across Palm Beach County.

The Palm Beach County School District’s television station, The Education Network, is streaming LIVE coverage of the ceremonies.
Graduations will be Open and Closed captioned for the deaf and hard of hearing viewers for the first hour.

Ceremonies will also be streamed live online, and for the first time, graduations will be available to watch on YouTube.

For those graduates, friends and family attending the 4 p.m. ceremony for South Tech on Wednesday, May 23 and the 4 p.m. ceremony for Suncoast High School on Thursday, May 24,  a traffic update has been issued. There are concerts being held at the Coral Sky Amphitheatre on the South Florida Fairgrounds property the evening of those ceremonies. Additional police officers and aides will be on site to help with traffic and parking. However, plan for delays. Guests should enter through Gate 12 and are encouraged avoid Southern Blvd., Belvedere Rd. and Benoist Farms Rd. Instead, it is suggested to enter the fairgrounds using Weisman Rd. off of 441 between Belvedere Rd. and Southern Blvd.
The  District’s graduation rate for the 2016-2017 school year reached a historic high mark, ranking first among Florida’s large, urban school districts and exceeding the state’s graduation rate for the Class of 2017.
The graduation rate for District-operated schools increased to 90 percent for the 2016-2017 school year. The graduation rate for all schools, including charter schools, was 85 percent for 2016-2017 – highest among other large, urban districts in Florida, including Broward, Duval, Hillsborough, Miami-Dade, Orange and Pinellas counties, and higher than the the state’s average of 82.3 percent.
