School’s out for the summer, but students are still hungry, and the School District’s School Food Service Department is offering free meals for all children in Palm Beach County.
Schools across the District will be serving free, nutritionally balanced breakfasts and lunches to children through the age of 18 at school locations across the county. Plus, in order to keep bellies full and learning continuing through the summer, several Palm Beach County Library locations will be serving free lunches and snacks daily as well.
To kick off this year’s summer meal service program, Leslie Gray Streeter, columnist withThe Palm Beach Post, will be at the Palm Beach Gardens branch of the Palm Beach County Library System to read to children before the meals are served.

Summer Food Service sites are located at schools in the immediate vicinity of areas of need where 50 percent or more of the children qualify for free and reduced-price meals during the school year and to those students enrolled in summer school or camps.
Lunches and afternoon snacks will be available through the following county library branches: Mandel-West Palm Beach, Acreage-Loxahatchee, Belle Glade, Greenacres, Jupiter, Lantana, Main Branch (Summit Blvd.), Wellington, Clarence E. Anthony-South Bay, Palm Beach Gardens, Glades Road-Boca Raton, Hagen Ranch Road-Delray Beach, Loula V. York-Pahokee, Okeechobee Blvd-West Palm Beach, Royal Palm Beach, Tequesta, West Boca and West Boynton Beach.
