More than 125 Teachers Expected to Attend Garden Curriculum Workshop Saturday

WEST PALM BEACH-  To support the School District’s School Based Wellness initiative, School Food Service is providing a workshop to strengthen the School Garden program.
Together with Mounts Botanical Garden and the UF/IFAS Palm Beach County Cooperative Extension, a Garden Curriculum Workshop called “Bringing the Classroom into the Garden” is being offered to teachers in Palm Beach County. To date, more than 125 school district staff have registered for this training.
WHAT: Garden Curriculum Workshop “Bringing the Classroom to the Garden”
WHEN: Saturday, November 10  from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
             Two concurrent sessions will run during the morning.

The purpose of this event is show how school gardens enhance academics by emphasizing that using the garden as a classroom is an excellent way for students to engage more of their senses as they move their academic lessons.
