Maureen Carter, a social science teacher at Boca Raton Community High School, received the 2021 Gutterman Family Outstanding Holocaust Educator award during the annual Educator Awards Dinner on November 7. The highly competitive award is funded by Arthur Gutterman, a benefactor whose generous contributions help support Florida Atlantic University’s Arthur and Emalie Gutterman Center for Holocaust and Human Rights Education community and professional learning programs.

Voters Re-elect Incumbent and Choose New Board Member

Longtime Palm Beach County School Board Member Marcia Andrews was re-elected to represent District 6 after garnering 56% of ballots cast in the November 8 general election. Local attorney Edwin Ferguson was elected with 52% of the vote in District 7, a seat vacated by Dr. Debra Robinson who retired after serving on the Board since 2000.
