A crowd of Graduation caps

The excitement is building as more than 14,000 seniors from 32 schools and academies prepare for this month’s graduation ceremonies. Here are important tips you need to know, as you plan for the celebrations:

  • When sending out graduation announcements, remind friends and family who can’t be at the ceremony that they can watch live locally on The Education Network (T.E.N.) which is on Comcast Channel 235 and AT&T Channel 99. Or they can watch online from anywhere by going to Online streaming of the ceremonies will include closed captioning.
  • Graduation ceremonies will have increased police presence. All bags are subject to search and guests must go through metal detectors when they enter the venue.
  • Doors will open two hours prior to the ceremony to accommodate the added security measures. Plan to arrive early. Ceremonies will not be delayed due to security lines.
  • Leave all noisemakers and balloons at home. They will not be permitted in the venue.
  • Please do not approach the stage to take pictures. A professional photographer has been selected to take a picture of every graduate receiving their diploma. Pictures will be made available to each graduate shortly after the ceremonies.
  • Cell phones must be turned off or silenced during the ceremony. However, before and after the ceremony, please be sure to check out the Snapchat filter created especially for Palm Beach County School District graduations.
