Decoration Vicente Rocafuerte for Education Award Dr. Otto F. Von Feigenblatt, an IB History of the Americas and Honors World History teacher at Royal Palm Beach Community High School, recently received the Decoration Vicente Rocafuerte for Education Award from the National Assembly of the Republic of Ecuador. The award is the country’s highest honor for education.

Dr. Von Feigenblatt holds doctorates in Education, Philosophy, and Science. He has taught at Royal Palm Beach High for the last three years and previously taught in Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

“Dr. Von Feigenblatt is an incredibly talented and credentialed educator and statesman,” said Jesus Armas, the school’s principal. “We are fortunate to have him on our faculty helping to further Royal Palm Beach High School's mission of providing a world-class education and our vision of producing students who are productive, global citizens.”

The National Assembly in Ecuador took notice of Dr. Von Feigenblatt after he had made several visits to the country as an educational consultant and volunteer lecturer. His goal is to help train professors and provide advice to policymakers looking to improve their education system. Professors at the University of Guayaquil,
Ecuador's largest public university, nominated Dr. Von Feigenblatt for the national award, which he received last month.

“It came as a surprise to me when the Member of the National Assembly for the Region of Guayas invited me to receive the award at the iconic Banker's Club in Guayaquil,” Dr. Von Feigenblatt said. “It was truly a pleasure for me to share my experience at both the secondary and tertiary level in Ecuador and to meet so many devoted and passionate educators.”
