Deliver Supplies

The COVID-19 pandemic mandated school closures, creating the need for distance learning for School District of Palm Beach County students. Unfortunately, many students throughout the community do not have the necessary school supplies or technological materials to learn effectively at home.

In response to this issue, the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County announced the “Rise to the Challenge” campaign to raise funds to purchase electronic devices and essential school supplies for children in need. An anonymous donor jump-started the campaign with a substantial gift of $500,000.

The funds helped the Education Foundation’s Red Apple Supplies program in providing “Kits for Kids”. Each kit includes a pencil case filled with essential school supplies. With the generosity of the community, the Education Foundation has raised more than $620,000, acquired nearly 700 devices, and distributed 720 Kits through the School District’s feeding sites. Plans are in place to distribute additional kits in the coming weeks.

“It is so inspiring to see this community come together. This is how we change the world, one kit, one student at a time,” said James Gavrilos, President and CEO of the Education Foundation.

The community is asked to join the Education Foundation’s “Rise to the Challenge” by contributing to the campaign goal of raising $750,000 to provide Kits for Kids and electronic devices. A donation of $100 will supply four Kits, while $275 will help cover the cost of an electronic device.
