For the fifth consecutive year, the School District of Palm Beach County has been honored with the prestigious Best Communities for Music Education designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation.

Designations are given to districts and schools that demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education. Palm Beach County is one of only five school districts in Florida to receive the distinction for 2021, following the completion of an extensive NAMM survey/application.

According to NAMM, “the Foundation has recognized your community for its outstanding efforts of teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who are making music part of a well-rounded education for every child in their communities. We salute the commitment of your community, so every child can learn and grow with music.”

In recent years, District students and staff have achieved success and recognition for their musical accomplishments and instructional expertise. Students have been selected for prestigious orchestra mentorship programs, and earned fame for their musical talent.

One educator received local recognition as music teacher of the year, and a band director was recently named to the list of 40 under 40 for outstanding music educators. The District also boasts a Grammy award-winning musician among its notable graduates.

The District serves more than 175,000 students in the areas of Music, Visual Arts, Theatre Arts, Dance, and TV Production. Students have the opportunity to experience the arts in elementary, middle, and high school through a variety of course offerings.
