Families of School District of Palm Beach County students in grades K-5 are eligible for child care scholarships, thanks to funds provided by the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, through its Youth Services Department to the Early Learning Coalition of Palm Beach County.

Money for the scholarships is made available through the County’s CARES Act funding, to address the issue of access to childcare services, which many families are experiencing as a result of dealing with financial difficulties due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Priority for the scholarships will be given to homeless children, children in families who work or attend school during the hours of the School District’s distance learning, and those who have a household income at or below 200% of federal poverty guidelines.

Additionally, Palm Beach County Youth Services has obtained 1,000 headsets to be supplied to child care centers, allowing students to concentrate on their individual lessons when they are in a setting with other students. For more information, visit the Early Learning Coalition website.
