To encourage more families to take advantage of the healthy choices available for school breakfast, the School District of Palm Beach County will celebrate National School Breakfast Week during March 2-6, 2020.

Busy weekday mornings make it a challenge for many families to find time for a healthy breakfast. However, thanks to free breakfast across all District schools, more and more students are starting their day with a nutritious breakfast in their school cafeterias and through breakfast carts stationed around the school.

“A healthy breakfast at the start of the day is a great way to ensure students are ready to learn,” said Allison Monbleau, Food & Nutrition Director. “National School Breakfast Week helps us educate parents and students about all the healthy choices we offer, and that our breakfasts are free to all students.”

The District serves over 60,000 breakfast meals daily through the federally funded School Breakfast Program. School nutrition professionals in Palm Beach County prepare breakfast and lunches every day that meet federal nutrition standards- limiting fat, calories, and sodium- while encouraging students to choose from fruits, vegetables and whole grains offered with school meals.

This year’s School Breakfast Week theme, “Out of this World,” is being embraced by the District’s School Food Service Department and released this breakfast menu inspired by the theme.
