Coronavirus Prevention and Readiness Update

WEST PALM BEACH - The State of Florida confirms that there are currently no documented cases of Coronavirus in Palm Beach County.

However, the School District of Palm Beach County is being proactive and following Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations and guidelines in preparation for potential cases of the virus.

The School District has been actively monitoring developments related to Coronavirus. School District leadership is reviewing response plans accordingly in full compliance with guidance from the CDC and Florida Department of Health (FDOH), to ensure that all necessary resources and procedures are in place to address any potential Coronavirus impact in our community.

“The Palm Beach County School District has a robust, long-standing professional relationship with the FDOH and will work in close collaboration with all public health officials and governmental agencies throughout the state to provide guidance, promote awareness, and initiate response actions as needed,” said Superintendent Donald E. Fennoy II.

For more comprehensive information about the Coronavirus, please refer to the CDC's designated Coronavirus webpage.

Please also be advised that the School Board will be updated on the District’s Infectious Disease Plan during the March 4 School Board Meeting. This meeting is open to the public and will be streamed live on palmbeachschools.org. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
