Lets' Move

Students, administrators, faculty, and staff of the School District of Palm Beach County are encouraged to take part in the countywide Let’s Move: Commit to Change Physical Activity Challenge.

From March 1-31, all schools and departments can create teams, dedicate 30 minutes a day to physical activity, and track their minutes. Whether in distance learning or on campus, this initiative offers participants the perfect opportunity to recommit to their fitness goals.

Daily physical activity can improve overall health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases such as cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, and cancer. Additionally, physical activity helps reduce stress, improves depression and anxiety, boosts the immune system, improves sleep and can even add years to a person’s life.

To participate, go to letsmovepbc.org.

• Click on the "Register to Participate" button on the home page, create a username and password, and select ''The School District of Palm Beach County" team from the "Organization/Team Name" dropdown menu.

• Next, select your respective school or department name in the "Sub-Team/Department Name" drop-down menu and click "Submit".

• Once you are registered, logging your minutes is easy. Log in to the site using your username and password, select the "My Minutes" button on the home page, and enter minutes on your personal dashboard.

The school site or community-based organization with the most minutes will win a small grant to support physical activity programming. In 2020, School District participants logged 473,201 minutes, part of the more than 3.8 million minutes logged by teams across Palm Beach County. The District has set a goal to double the number of minutes this year.

To encourage friendly competition, participants are asked to post their school or department’s progress on social media using #LetsMovePBC. The Let’s Move: Commit to Change Physical Activity Challenge is presented by the Palm Health Foundation and Digital Vibez, Inc.
