The Palm Beach County School Board formally thanked the City of Boca Raton for a land donation that will be the future site of a new elementary school. Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer was on hand to receive the honor, as the Board read a proclamation officially noting the District’s appreciation.

The City of Boca Raton donated 15 acres of publicly owned land in the Countess de Hoernle Park to facilitate construction for the new school within Boca Raton proper. In the interest of efficiency, the property has been used as a “holding school” for both Verde Elementary and then Addison Mizner Elementary while their respective schools were being modernized.

Construction on the new school will begin as soon as Addison Mizner vacates the “holding school” at the end of this academic year. Construction is expected to take slightly more than one year, with an anticipated open date of August 2022 for the new campus.
