Seniors in the top 20% of their graduating class who have earned their diploma, qualify for the Talented 20 Program, guaranteeing admission to one of the state of Florida’s 12 universities.

While admission to a state university is guaranteed, there is no guarantee that the students will be accepted into the university of their choice. Admission to a school also depends on space and fiscal limitations.

Students must have been denied admission by three state universities and meet the following academic requirements:

English – four (4) credits.

Math credits (Algebra 1 and higher at the college prep level) – four (4) credits.

Science – three (3) credits.

Social Science – three (3) credits.

Electives – two (2) credits.

Foreign Language – two (2) credits.

Students must also submit an SAT or ACT score prior to enrollment in the university. No minimum score is required on either test.

Qualified students will receive a letter from their school or school counselor advising them of their eligibility. Students who meet the eligibility for the Talented 20 Program are also considered a priority for the Florida Student Assistance Grant (FSAG) which is allotted based on financial need.

The grant has additional criteria including being a resident of Florida for one year, completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, and other criteria. Click here to view the FSAG eligibility requirements.
