The Acreage Pines Elementary Nature Preserve Trail is a new outdoor classroom experience at the school that is open and available to all students, with special significance to those who are active in the Biomedical Veterinary Science Choice program

The school worked with District environmental experts, business partners, and community resource volunteers to create the Nature Preserve Trail. In addition to the unique educational experiences the preserve offers, it also gives animals shelter and a place to eat. The preserve is  approximately 21 acres in total, 10 acres of which are prairie wetlands and 11 acres of Pine Flatwood upland buffer area.

A generous donation from Winn-Dixie helped make this nature trail possible. This comes after previous contributions from the Florida-based grocer to projects at Western Pines Middle, and Seminole Ridge Community High.
