Students at Melaleuca Elementary video chatted with students half-way across the world. The students in Zimbabwe quizzed students about their country's history and also learned a thing a two about American culture.

The school used a SMART board to perform the video chat. Leveraging the funding provided by the penny sales tax passed in 2016, PBCSD implemented 1346 SMART Board interactive displays with SMART Learning Suite software this past year, with a goal to have up to 11,000 classrooms completed over the next two years.

The District also partnered with SMART to deliver professional learning opportunities to over 1,300 teachers, through a program called Teaching with Technology Trailblazers.
