District Students Honored as Pathfinders

Although the ceremony was moved from the Kravis Center of the Performing Arts to computers in living rooms, the excitement of winning a 2020 Pathfinder Award wasn’t diminished for 12 Palm Beach County School District seniors who were honored on May 20 for their excellence in academics, arts, and vocation.

An additional 23 students were awarded as second and third place winners. The annual award from the Palm Beach Post recognizes students and their potential influence on the future.

According to the Pathfinder website, “in a complex and rapidly changing world, a good education is the best way to ensure a life of excellence, growth, and creativity. This basic tenet applies not only to the individual but also to the community. A community, led by people with foresight and the ability to think through problems – the fruits of a good education – is one that will prosper through the best and worst of times.”

Students are nominated by their schools, submit an application, and then participate in an interview before being selected. The first-place award comes with a $4,000 prize. Below are this year’s winners:
