The School District of Palm Beach County’s School Food Service Department is looking for candidates to become manager interns and cafeteria staff at schools across the District.

Interested applicants are encouraged to apply for the manager intern program that will begin offering training in August. A high school diploma or GED is required, and a college degree is a plus. Manager interns are full-time employees who receive full benefits including health insurance, participation in the Florida Retirement System, and paid time off. Trainees start at $15.24 an hour.

For anyone looking for a part-time job, School Food Service is also hiring cafeteria staff. Most positions provide a set schedule of 20-25 hours per week with a five-hour workday that finishes by 2 p.m. This gives employees the flexibility to attend college, take a second job, or spend time with family.

Starting pay is $12 an hour. Cashier or food service experience is a plus. School-based sites are closed for two weeks at winter break, as well as one week for spring break, and a week for Thanksgiving.

All applicants must be 18 years of age or older, pass a drug screen and a level-two background test ($99 fee), in addition to passing a physical demand test to lift 35 pounds. To apply, go to palmbeachschools.org/jobs or email [email protected] for more information.
