The Biotech Academy at Spanish River Community High School received a $10,000 Lemelson-MIT InvenTeam grant to help them develop a wearable device to monitor sepsis symptoms. The invention could have a global impact, and Spanish River High is one of only 14 teams in the nation to be awarded the grant.
The team will go to Washington D.C. in June 2020 for MIT EurekaFest, and will present their prototype at the Smithsonian National Museum.
