Dear Parents and Staff,

As you may be aware, the School District recently relaxed facial covering rules for students and staff. While parents have the ability to opt-out, facial coverings are strongly encouraged for staff, but not mandatory.

Amid continually improving health conditions, Superintendent Mike Burke will also relax the facial covering mandate impacting visitors to the School District. Effective Friday, November 19, facial coverings will be strongly encouraged for visitors, but no longer mandatory. Visitors are also reminded to adhere to social distance guidelines of six feet, when possible.

Palm Beach County’s COVID-19 transmission data indicates that our community has been downgraded from a high level of transmission to the moderate range. The Positivity Rate in Palm Beach County is 2.5% and cases per 100,000 are down to 48 over a seven day average as of last Friday.

The District extends its gratitude to our students, staff, and visitors for cooperating in all of the protective measures put in place to mitigate the transmission of the virus and help Palm Beach County get to this point of recovery. Please continue to remain vigilant and exercise your best judgment to help keep students and staff safe.  This includes social distancing, frequent washing of hands, covering coughs and sneezes, etc.

COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are also readily available through a partnership between the Palm Beach County Healthcare District and the School District. Local pharmacies and physicians also continue to administer the vaccine.

Thank you for your continued support of the School District of Palm Beach County.
