2019 Hispanic Heritage Month

Governor Ron DeSantis and First Lady Casey DeSantis have announced the 2019 Hispanic Heritage Month contests for students and educators.

Students in Grades K-3 are invited to participate in an art contest, and students in Grades 4-12 are invited to participate in an essay contest. Parents, students, teachers, and principals are also invited to nominate full-time, outstanding educators for the Hispanic Heritage Month Excellence in Education Award.

The student essay contests will provide students in Grades 4-12 with an opportunity to a four-year Florida College Plan scholarship. This is also an opportunity for students to learn how Hispanics contributed to the history and development of the state of Florida.

The theme for this year's essay and art contests is “Celebrating Public Service.” Students are asked to recognize and pay tribute to Hispanic leaders who play prominent roles in public service throughout Florida. More information about the contests and Florida's Hispanic Heritage Month is available at www.FloridaHispanicHeritage.com.

Student contest and educator nomination forms must be mailed to:
