Your Choice: Distance or In-person

Your Choice: Distance or In-person Learning Once Campuses Reopen

Make your Choice

Welcome back to the 2020-2021 school year. Distance learning remains the only mode of instruction at this time, but parents may have more options in the coming weeks.

With the number of COVID-19 cases on the decline, campuses may reopen for in-person instruction in the near future. However, a specific date has not been determined.

When that time does come, anyone wishing to continue with distance learning can certainly do so. And those of you who want your children to return to campus can choose to have your children attend school for in-person instruction.

Parents and guardians will receive a call from the District on Wednesday, September 2, describing the process. You will receive a call for each student you have in the District.

It’s important that you accept that call, to receive instructions on how to make your choice for each child. You will do this through your child’s Student Portal and will need your child’s login information.

We realize that you’ve been asked this question before, but some time has passed, and we want you to have the opportunity to weigh in again.

If you’re unsure about your choice, please visit, watch the video below, and read the COVID-19 Guiding Document for more information about distance learning and in-person instruction.

Parents, we would appreciate it if you could let us know your choice as soon as you are comfortable doing so. If you later change your mind about your choice of instruction for your child, you can return to the Portal to indicate your change. Once campuses are open, it will take one week to accommodate your requested change.

Thank you in advance for making your choice. We appreciate your support of the School District of Palm Beach County. For more information, please visit
