Select Title I schools offer the VPK/Title I Enrichment program, which targets students with high academic need who live within a participating school’s attendance zone. The FREE VPK program is offered as a part-day program and children enrolled in VPK are eligible to participate in the Title I funded enrichment hours. Afterschool programs may be available at schools and will be offered on a fee basis.

WHO:
  • Children who turn 4 by September 1, 2016 (born Sept. 2, 2011 – Sept. 1, 2012) and have a VPK Certificate
  • Family must live within a participating Title I school’s attendance zone
  • Children who have an academic need
WHAT:
  • 6-hour, full-day early learning program, 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Monday – Friday; begins August 15, 2016
  • Students qualify based on academic need
  • District reserves the right to cancel a class due to funding or enrollment issues
WHEN:
  • School accepts applications during regular school hours
  • Initial application period ended in April
  • Schools with open seats will continue to enroll
HOW:

Step 1: Apply Online for a VPK Certificate

  • online for a VPK Certificate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
  • Complete the application and upload your required, scanned documents.
  • A Record Locator Number will be sent to you after your application and documents are approved.
  • Use the Record Locator Number to download and print your child's VPK Certificate.

Step 2: Schools with open seats will continue to accept students with the following documentation

  • New and Returning Student Registration Form
  • VPK Certificate of Eligibility
  • Birth certificate (or other proof of child’s age)
  • Two proofs of residency
  • Student Health Examination Form DH 3040
  • Florida Certificate of Immunization Form DH 680
