Self Reporting of Arrests

School Board Policy 3.13 requires all employees to self report any arrests and/or criminal charges in writing to their immediate supervisor within forty-eight (48) hours. Supervisors are to then contact the Office of Professional Standards with a copy of that information. The information should be faxed to (561) 434-8178 (PX 48178). This Policy also requires the employee to notify their supervisor the outcome of the arrest/criminal charge including any conviction, finding of guilt, withholding of adjudication, commitment to a pretrial diversion program, or entering a plea of guilty, guilty in your best interest, or Nolo Contendre for any criminal offense other than a minor traffic violation within forty-eight (48) hours after the final judgement has been entered.

What Happens If...

The charges were reported but it was more than forty-eight (48) hours?
Failure to follow School Board Policy is a compliance issue that could result in disciplinary action. The information should still be forwarded to Professional Standards as soon as it is received.

The charges are serious and represent a clear danger to students and other staff members?
Contact Professional Standards at (561) 434-8528 as soon as you have the information so that the situation can be evaluated to see if relocation is warranted.
