College Success Program

The College Success Program is committed to preparing all students to engage Advanced Placement coursework. Making college accessible to all students through academic readiness, addressing and reducing the barriers to college, and providing support to students to make and fulfill a post secondary goal are the cornerstones of the College Success Program. Below are the various components of this initiative.

The College Success classes provide additional support to underserved populations by developing thinking, study and organizational skills essential to academic success.  The primary curriculum utilized within the College Success classes is Realizing the College Dream, a curriculum developed by the University of California, Berkeley in conjunction with the ECMC Foundation.

First Generation Mentor Program

The First Generation Mentor Program was developed with both college students and secondary students in mind. First generation college students go into the College Success classes as presenters, facilitators and mentors to help students identify and remove barriers to college.

Johnson Scholarship

The Johnson Scholarship Foundation partners with the College Success Program by providing a scholarship incentive program to five target high schools (LIST THE SCHOOLS). Funding has been provided for the support of the Johnson Scholars through a cohort format. Ten scholars per school receive a $10,000 scholarship to be disbursed over the four years of college.
