SUMMARY: The proposed policy is intended to allow for a School District-wide consistent ID badge program to be utilized by all District-operated schools and any Charter School serviced by the School Food Service Department and the Transportation Department.
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The use of student photo identification badges (ID badge) will provide for greater safety, accountability, and efficiency in schools.

RULE TITLE: Adult General Education Program
RULE NUMBER: Policy 8.09
SUMMARY: The proposed policy consolidates several previous policies (8.081, 8.091, 8.10, 8.102, and 8.11) into one comprehensive policy that covers eligibility, tuition, and fees for workforce development programs, including Adult General Education, Post-Secondary Career Technical Education, Continuing Workforce Education, and Community Education.
PURPOSE AND EFFECT: Policy 8.09 is being revised to consolidate all Adult Education-related policies into a single comprehensive master policy. This revision will streamline governance and provide a unified framework for Adult General Education, High School Equivalency, Adult Career and Technical Education, Workforce Development, Vocational Education, and Community Education programs. As part of this update, the following policies will be repealed and incorporated into the revised Policy 8.09: • Policy 8.081- Adult General Education Program (adopted April 18, 2012); • Policy 8.091- High School Equivalency Diploma (adopted October 5, 1983); • Policy 8.10- Technical or Vocational Education (adopted February 18, 1972); • Policy 8.102 -Vocational Entry Level Examinations (adopted May 7, 1997); and • Policy 8.11-Community Schools (adopted February 18, 1972). In addition to the aforementioned, the title of Policy 8.09 has been updated to "Policy 8.09: Adult General Education Program".

SUMMARY OF STATEMENT OF ESTIMATED REGULATORY COST: The Agency has determined that a SERC is not required and has not prepared a SERC. The Agency has determined that based on information, including that contained in the proposed rule and the Board report, the rule is not expected to require legislative ratification. Any person who wishes to provide the District with information regarding a statement of estimated regulatory costs, or to provide a proposal for a lower cost regulatory alternative, must do so in writing to the Board Clerk within 21 days of the publication of this Notice. PUBLIC HEARING: IF REQUESTED, A PUBLIC HEARING WILL BE HELD DURING THE SPECIAL MEETING OF MAY 27, 2026. This Special Meeting will follow other Board meetings including a workshop and they are estimated to begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Boardroom at 3300 Forest Hill Boulevard, West Palm Beach, Florida. Persons requesting such a hearing must do so in writing by May 20, 2026, to the Board Clerk, at the same address. The proposal for adoption of the Policies is anticipated to be considered at the Special Meeting on May 27, 2026, in the Board Room.
