Public Meeting Announcement: Notice of Rule Development: 4/15/2026

RULE TITLE:  Student Photo Identification Badge (ID Badge)

RULE NUMBER:  Policy 5.0115

SUBJECT AREA TO BE ADDRESSED:  Changes are needed to provide clarification as well as reorganize the information to easily identify the responsibilities of Administrators, Parents, Guardians, and Students.

PURPOSE AND EFFECT: The use of student photo identification badges (ID badge) will provide for greater safety, accountability, and efficiency in schools.

ID badges help to create and promote a safe and secure environment by providing visual identification of persons entering Palm Beach County District-operated schools. In addition, ID Badges provide students with access to resources, including access to borrowing books from the library, attending school events, on-campus meals, and transportation to and from school.

The intent of this policy is to have a School District-wide consistent ID badge program to be utilized by all District-operated schools and any Charter School serviced by the School Food Service Department and the Transportation Department.
