The Summer Food Service Program will begin again June 6, 2017 in most locations (check your location, starting times vary)
All children up through age 18 are eligible for nutritious breakfast and lunch meals at no charge. There is no application necessary and any child age 18 or younger can simply come during meal times to receive a free meal.
The programs are approved for geographical areas of need where 50 percent or more of the children qualify for free and reduced price meals during the school year.
Summer Food Service sites provide meals to all children in the immediate vicinity of the school, in addition to those enrolled in summer school/camp.
In addition to the school sites, Summer Food Service was provided to the Mandel West Palm Beach Library. The program operated 6/6/16 - 8/5/16. 3,823 Lunches and 6,020 Snacks were served during this time.
This year the district will have 141 sites. With the success of the Mandel West Palm Beach Library last year, the district has added seven Palm Beach County Libraries:
Belle Glade Branch
Lantana Road Branch
Main Branch – Summit Blvd.

The Haines Family enjoyed Breakfast and Lunch at Berkshire Elementary this summer for the second year.
"Your staff was warm, friendly and very kind. We love Ms. Nancy and her crew. The children really enjoyed the food choices as well. They enjoyed visiting THEIR school during the summer. As a teacher, I am thrilled that my grandchildren love their school, feel comfortable and safe. I really admire what the Palm Beach County School System is doing to help our children and families understand good nutrition and how important it is for health and wellness."
