Advancement Via Individual Determination Club (AVID)
The AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) club is a dynamic and inclusive community dedicated to fostering academic excellence, college readiness, and personal growth among its members. Animal Rescue Club (ARC)
Animal Rescue Club is all about helping the animals in our community find loving homes and promoting proper interactions with animals. Students can earn volunteer hours by serving at the Humane Society or other local animal shelters. ARC will attend different adoption events in the community while also learning ways to work with animals positively, even in the wild. This club is for the animal lovers!

Art Club
Art Club serves as a communal space for artists of all walks of life at JILHS. Our primary focus for the first semester will be preparing for the Lake Worth Street Painting Festival, a long-standing annual tradition of our art department. During the second semester, our members will determine our activities and chosen mediums.

Breast Cancer Awareness Club (Think Pink)
Think Pink is a safe space for members to discuss their mental health in regards to their battles with cancer. This terminal condition can affect one's mental health, and no one should feel the need to bottle their emotions. In this
club, we participate and encourage John I. students to be a part of walks for cancer. We also sell delicious baked goods, which will be sold during both lunches. We will volunteer for cancer foundations, visit patients in hospitals,

Health Occupations Students of America Club (HOSA)
HOSA is a medical organization for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the medical field. Members strive to raise awareness about any medical issues within our community by teaching Hands Only CPR to help our communities be a safer place to live. Further, students work to educate the community about the dangers of sun exposure and skin cancers by stressing the importance of sunscreen and covering up any exposed areas of the body for long periods of time.

Jazz Influenced Vocal Ensemble (JIVE)
JIVE members are given the opportunity to learn and develop proper vocal technique, and gain understanding of the vocal mechanism. Members will also learn to read musical notation, sight-sing, and appreciate many different styles of music through the study and performance of choral literature.

Latinos In Action (LIA Club)
The mission of the Latinos In Action (LIA) club is to offer an asset-based approach to bridging the graduation and opportunity gap for Latino students, working from within the educational system to create positive change. The end goal of everything we do is to empower Latino youth to lead and strengthen their communities through college and career readiness. We accomplish this by focusing on four pillars: leveraging personal and cultural assets, excelling in education, serving the community, and developing leadership skills.

The Poetry Club strives to provide students a place to learn and practice writing poetry. Members will practice with writing mechanics such as: figurative language, rhetorical devices (parallelism, allusion, repetition, etc.) grammar and punctuation. These techniques will be helpful for students’ personal, competitive, and educational writing.

The Scholarship and College Preparedness Club envisions a community where every student has access to information and resources that empower them to achieve their higher education aspirations. We seek to create a platform for students to share experiences, learn from experts, and access resources that enhance their chances of securing scholarships and excelling in their academic journey.

SECME
SECME provides a space to develop STEM skills and encourages the practical application of STEM skills in project-based learning. This club will also be an informational clearinghouse for student science opportunities (internships, competitions, essay contests, Pathfinder, SCRIPPS, etc.) SECME will provide instructional/ social support and encourage students to participate in competitions (SECME, science fair, essay, etc.) Lastly, SECME strives to prepare members to participate in the required SECME Olympiad held in April.

Sports Fan Club
Sports Fan Club is for students who enjoy watching, playing, debating, and celebrating sports of different kinds. During meetings, we can stream live sporting events (when/if available) and showcase highlights from any/all sporting leagues. A long-term goal would be to take a field trip to a local sporting venue or college campus to attend an event. Members who are interested in playing a sport at the collegiate level will be provided resources to pursue their desired path. Community service may be available to members by working with youth leagues and collaborating with local colleges.
