John I Leonard now offers both Junior Varsity and Varsity Baseball for all to try out for each Spring, starting in January. Anyone interested in participating this season needs to have an updated physical and athletic packet completed and turned into Head Coach Casey Beck, located in Room 4112. Boys Basketball is an athletic program offered at John I. Leonard that provides an environment where young men can reach their academic, athletic, and personal potential. Sideline Cheerleading
Sideline Cheer is performed alongside other sporting events such as football and basketball. The activity incorporates elements of stunting and performance cheer, in addition to the incorporation of signs, megaphones, and pom poms to help direct and energize the crowd.

A sport in which individuals may run up to three miles on outdoor, natural terrain courses.

Football
An athletic program, here at John I. Leonard, that offers students the opportunity to learn, develop, and play football. Athletes are taught the importance of hard work, handling adversity, competitiveness, and life skills to prepare them for the next stage of life.

Girls Flag Football
Girls flag gives young ladies the opportunity to experience the thrill and excitement of playing organized football. We promote leadership and teamwork, and success through preparation, goal-setting, and high-level performance.

Girls and Boys Golf
Golf is an individual sport where players cantest their physical and mental strengths by learning to use a variety of clubs from different locations on the course. Golf is also a social sport that teaches players various social skills. Girls’ and Boys’ golf practices take place at Palm Beach National Golf Course.

Soccer is an opportunity to take each member’s own unique abilities and experiences and unify these forces in order to be a part of a competitive team. We are determined to blend our experiences together and leave all of our differences on the sideline. Boys and Girls Swimming
Competitive swimming has over 200 skills of body position, breathing patterns, biomechanics, starts, turns, and psychological/competitive confidence that are trying to be taught in an unnatural human medium: water. Swimming takes grit and endurance to accomplish and is a very strenuous sport.

Wrestling
Wrestling is a physically demanding sport that requires a high level of dedication and commitment. The greatest thing is that anyone can do it; there are multiple weight classes, so students of all shapes and sizes may participate. Wrestling is a great sport for high school students as it’s challenging and will help build confidence, discipline, mental and physical ability amongst its participants.
