For nearly 20 years, the School District of Palm Beach County Department of Multicultural Education has extended an invitation to the students and staff of the IB World School Ludoteca from Quito, Ecuador.

On May 18 and 19, Ludoteca once again visited the District and performed cultural presentations at six schools: Berkshire Elementary, Cholee Lake Elementary, Clifford O. Taylor/Kirklane Elementary, L.C. Swain Middle, Lake Worth Community High, and Okeeheelee Middle.

“Ludoteca’s visit to our schools is part of a cultural exchange that many of our schools look forward to. It is a cultural celebration rich with Ecuadorian traditions and history,” said Melissa Patterson, Director of the Department of Multicultural Education. “Their annual visit is a way of broadening students’ cultural horizons while affirming their identities and inspiring everyone to appreciate traditions.”

District students enjoyed entertaining performances while getting to learn about Ecuadorian culture, dance, and traditions. They were also able to participate in the dances and receive memorable souvenirs from Ludoteca students.
