Superintendent’s Greeting Card Contest Winners Spread Holiday Cheer With Exceptional Artistry (12/2/2022)
For the seventh year in a row, student artists were encouraged to enter the Superintendent’s Greeting Card Contest to showcase their talent and creativity. With guidance and support from their art teachers, numerous entries were submitted by students throughout the School District. Three winners were selected, one student each from the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
Superintendent Mike Burke had his work cut out for him to choose from all of the excellent entries. The students listed below were ultimately selected by Mr. Burke as the winners for their outstanding greeting card designs. Congratulations to each student and their teachers!
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL WINNER
• Camille Zambrano – Grade 5, Palm Beach Public
Art Teacher: Jennifer Petti
MIDDLE SCHOOL WINNER
• Zarah Lee – Grade 7, Crestwood Middle School
Art Teacher: Patricia Duebber
HIGH SCHOOL WINNER
• Abigail Lopez – Grade 9, John I. Leonard High School
Art Teacher: Natasha Van der Kamp
The purpose of the contest is to tap into the spirit of the holidays by giving students the chance to use their imaginations and display their artistic abilities. Each year, the contest shines a light on the many talented students in the District, and serves as a wonderful demonstration of their artistry and originality.
The winning cards will be sent to board members, principals, and community partners. Each winner and their teacher will receive a printed set of their winning cards, in addition to being formally recognized by the school board during the December 14 regular board meeting.
