Remodeling Information

Dear Melaleuca Parents and Staff,

Like you, the School District is excited and eager to move our students and staff from the temporary site, located at the Crestwood campus, back into our sprawling new state-of-the-art Melaleuca Elementary School. Thank you for your patience as your school’s administrators and the District’s construction crews create, not just a modernized school, but also an environment where students and teachers will be inspired to embrace curiosity and academic growth.

The District is committed to keeping you informed on the construction timeline of the school’s opening date, which was initially August 10, 2023. Unfortunately, based on the delays that have occurred throughout the global construction market, the District has had to implement alternative opening plans, including a delayed move-in date on the new, modernized, Melaleuca campus.

The new move-in date is projected to occur within the first few months of the 2023-2024 school year. The District will continue to update you on progress. Please know the construction company is working diligently to expedite the completion of the new school.

The adjusted timeline means that in August of 2023, students will remain at the current temporary campus at Crestwood Middle School. All school functions, such as buses, food service, etc., will remain the same until the official opening of the modernized Melaleuca campus.

Principal, Dr. Maupin, will contact you with more information regarding the transition process, including summer programming and new student registration, including the incoming class of kindergarten students.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding. We look forward to the grand opening of our new Melaleuca, and showcasing all that this state-of-the art campus will offer our Eagles.

Thank you for your support of the School District of Palm Beach County.
