Educator Support Program

“Your influence begins with you and ripples outward.”
~ Lao Tzu

Program Description

The Educator Support Program (ESP) is the School District of Palm Beach County’s formal program of support for newly hired educators. This can include brand new teachers to the profession or those new to Palm Beach County.

ESP Contacts

All Teachers with a Temporary Certificate (blue) and Teachers with a Professional Certificate yet less than one year of experience (gold) must have a mentor.  Teacher with a Professional Certificate and more than one year of experience should have a buddy or PLC.

Register for the ESP Contacts course for resources and inservice points in eLearning: ESP Contact: Leading for Teacher Growth

Make sure all new teachers register for the appropriate eLearning course.  (“ESP Participants” below.)

ESP Voluntary Lead Mentors

The Educator Support Program for FY18 will also highly recommend choosing a Lead Mentor at each school.  The role of the Lead Mentor will be to assist the ESP Contact by supporting other mentors working with new teachers and to help facilitate and document the professional learning experiences for new teachers when possible.

ESP Mentors

Mentors for ESP do not need Clinical Education training.

Mentors must be willing to collaborate with ESP Participants using the ESP Mentors: Monthly School Based Program Calendar as a guide while providing side-by-side guidance, peer to peer classroom visits, and effective and timely feedback.

Register for the “ESP Mentors: Strategies for Supporting New Teachers FY18” course for resources and inservice points in eLearning.
