Students currently in grades 6-11 are encouraged to apply for the Canon Future Authors Workshop, a free, stimulating seven-day seminar designed to sharpen their writing skills.
Students will have the opportunity to write and revise materials for publication, as well as meet local writers during informative discussion sessions.
WHEN: June 5-7 and June 11-14, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. each day (Boca Raton or Belle Glade).

Non-renewable scholarships will be awarded to the selected students who will then need to provide their college or university acceptance letter. Checks will be made payable directly to the student’s college or university. DEADLINE: All applications must be received by Friday, May 11, 2018.
A new app that allows students, parents and staff to report threats and suspicious activity directly to local law enforcement has launched.
The app, called StudentProtect, a collaboration between the School District of Palm Beach County, District Police Department and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, has the ability for the user to dial 911 and have the exact GPS location of their mobile device sent to first responders. Users can also subscribe to specific schools to receive alerts and notifications from law enforcement. Available for Apple and Android devices by searching “PBC StudentProtect”.

To qualify, create a short (under three minutes) video explaining a challenging concept in physics, mathematics, or the life sciences in an engaging, illuminating, and creative way. If you win, you’ll receive the college scholarship, your teacher will receive a $50,000 prize, and your school will get a new $100,000 science lab!
