The School District of Palm Beach County collaborated with Broward County Public Schools, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, and the School District of Osceola County on the implementation of a college access event highlighting Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI).

A Hispanic Serving Institution is defined in federal law as an accredited, degree-granting, public or private nonprofit institution of higher education with 25% or more total undergraduate Hispanic full-time student enrollment. This one-week event includes participation from more than 20 HSI from across the state of Florida.

This initiative connected students and families from across the state with information about the outstanding post-secondary opportunities available at Hispanic-serving colleges and universities. Each day from March 29 through April 1, representatives from participating institutions were available for 30-minute information sessions.

All sessions were virtual and free and open to anyone who was interested in learning more about HSI.
