The safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors is our top priority. The Compliance Team is dedicated to ensuring that all schools within our district meet the highest standards of safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
Our Mission
We work to create and maintain a safe learning environment by ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, providing guidance on security best practices, and fostering collaboration with local first responder agencies.
Our Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to state and federal school safety laws, including legislative mandates and Florida Administrative Codes.
- Emergency Preparedness: Assisting schools in developing and implementing crisis response plans, conducting drills, and training staff on crisis response and reunification.
- First Responder Collaboration: Partnering with local law enforcement and fire departments to enhance school security and ensure rapid response to potential threats.
- Incident Reporting & Investigations: Monitoring and addressing safety concerns, conducting compliance audits, and providing recommendations for improvement.
Resources & Support
We provide guidance and support to school administrators, faculty, and staff to help them understand and fulfill their roles in maintaining a secure environment. Our team is available to assist with:
- Security assessments and risk evaluations
- Training on safety procedures and crisis management
- Compliance documentation and audits
