Parent Resources
Summer reading and learning is very important for all students (PreK, elementary, middle, and high) to avoid a summer slide and be proficient when they return to school in the fall. This page is dedicated to parents to provide research on why reading and learning is important and resources to help your child during the summer. There is also a section for online learning that you can enjoy.

Why is summer learning important?
Research has shown that summer learning helps students succeed academically. By continuing to read, learn and have experiences outside the classroom, such as visiting science centers, and museums and exploring the outdoors, students will reduce summer loss and be better prepared when they return to school in the fall. See the information below to learn more about the research and ways to help your children succeed.
