Steps to Apply for the 2025-2026 VPK Program

Please note: Deadlines Vary by School Site

Step 1: Obtain a VPK Certificate Online (January)

Go to the ELC VPK Families page to apply for a VPK Certificate. For information or help with the VPK Certification application, call the Early Learning Coalition at (561) 514-3300.

Step 2: Find Your School & Determine Options (January)

Go to Find My School; enter your home address to locate your zoned school.  Visit our School Sites with VPK Programs page to determine if your home school offers VPK. If your home school does not offer VPK, call (561) 434-8720 or send an email to earlychildhooded@palmbeachschools.org to learn about alternative options.

Step 3: Visit the School In Person to Apply for a VPK Seat (February)

To complete your application, please visit the school and bring your child’s VPK Certificate.

Step 4: Notification of Selection  (February - March)

Families will be notified by the school of their child’s selection status. Children not selected will go on a waitlist in order of application.

Step 5: Registration   (March - Continues Until Seats Filled)

If your child is selected, parents intending to accept their seat and enroll their child must bring the following documents to the school.

  • VPK Certificate
  • Birth Certificate
  • 2 Proofs of Residency
  • Health Form (DH 3040)
  • Immunization Form (DH 680)
  • SDPBC Registration Documents (see the links under “Required Forms” here: SDPBC Student Registration)

After the Standard Enrollment Period

Should seats become available due to incomplete application packets, parents on the waitlist will be contacted based on their waitlist placement.
